A highly experienced Chief Executive Officer, Mr Shoebridge is currently Chief Executive with the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research. His significant governance experience includes two terms as Deputy Chair of Sport New Zealand and Chair of its Audit, Finance and Risk Committee, as well as being a former Director of the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research and as a current or former trustee on the boards of a number of schools and charitable organisations.
Mr Shoebridge has consulting expertise gained in leading consulting assignments across a range of industries in New Zealand and overseas. With an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance, he is a chartered accountant and member of the Institute of Directors. Jason is also currently the Chair of the Regional Sports Trust Network.
Rohini Dube is a Partner for EY New Zealand, New Zealand Leader of the People Advisory Services tax team and Board of Director for EY New Zealand companies. She is a founding member of EY Tangata Pasifika network and the organisation’s New Zealand Diversity & Inclusiveness Council.
Ms Dube is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Practitioner and holds a CAANZ Fellowship. She is also a Trustee/Board of Director for Oxfam New Zealand.
Shelley is the Chief Executive Officer of Tāmaki Regeneration Company. She has held a number of general management and operations roles in businesses across New Zealand, Australia and Fiji, and has built significant networks in the course of her community-based work.
Shelley is currently a board member of Taupo Moana Ltd (Ngāti Tuwharetoa) and the National Houora Coalition.
Dr. Denise Atkins is a senior lecturer and academic manager in the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences at AUT University lecturing on both the North and South Auckland campus. She is a recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence in Teaching award and undertakes research in the fields of Health & Physical Education, pedagogy, higher education, play and student voice.
As a previous senior advisor with the Ministry of Education, Denise worked in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Sport New Zealand and was responsible for implementing initiatives in the HPE curriculum, physical activity and teacher professional development. Denise is Chair of the ABSL Board, is a Basketball Auckland Board member and a former Chair of Drowning Prevention Auckland.
David is a strategic thinker in the field of digital innovation, gleaned from over 35 years in senior management, sales and marketing positions in the technology sector. He has a reputation for diverse thinking, managing complexity, and excellent stakeholder engagement.
Currently the General Manager Asia-Pacific for Veovo, he sits on their global Senior Leadership Team responsible for APAC regional operations and customer leadership. Previously he has held senior management roles at Jade Software, NEC, Spark, IBM, Oracle, Sun Microsystems and StorageTek.
Bringing a diverse set of insights and thinking to the Executive and Board governance table is something David thrives on. Apart from his Aktive role, he is also an Advisory Board Member of the Superdiversity Institute, a member of the NZ Institute of Directors, the Information Technology Association of NZ, and numerous Chinese Associations and Communities.
Dr Lyndon is of Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Whātua, Ngāti Wai and Waikato descent. As a Māori clinician, academic, and governance leader, his influence spans health and academia.
In his governance roles, Dr Lyndon has served as the Deputy Chair of the Health Promotion Agency and as a board member of Te Aka Whai Ora Māori Health Authority and the Northland DHB. He is a board member of Pūtahi Manawa Centre of Research Excellence for Heart Health and the Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Foundation.
Mataroria is co-founder of Tend Health and serves as a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at the University of Auckland. He was previously the Equity Lead at Mahitahi Hauora Primary Health Organisation and a medical lead for Māori Health at Counties Manukau DHB.
Mataroria completed his Master of Public Health at Harvard University as a Fulbright Scholar and his PhD is focused on medical education. He was also awarded the Deloitte IPANZ Young Professional of the Year.
Ms Hulse stepped down as an Auckland Councillor in 2019 after a 27-year career in local government. Over this time, she held various leadership roles including Deputy Mayor of both Auckland and Waitākere cities and chair of a number of council committees, including the Environment and Community Committee which had oversight for a range of key policy platforms including provision of sport and recreation.
Building on a solid understanding of council processes and issues facing the Auckland region, Ms Hulse is a member of the Auckland Museum Trust Board, and the Board of Community Waitākere and is a member of the Koi Tu Kaitiaki forum as well as a number of community organisations.
Ian has been a board member of not-for-profit organisations for the last decade, including chairing boards and finance and audit committees. He has also held executive positions in finance, operations and transformation in New Zealand and abroad.
A Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand, with an MBA and degrees in accounting and auditing, Ian further specialised in venture finance and business sustainability management with Oxbridge.
Ian is a fellow and mentor of CPA Australia and mentor of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). He has been the recipient of multiple awards, including Healthcare Excellence Awards 2011 and Chief Financial Officer Awards 2015 for financial innovation.
Ian is passionate about all sports, plays football, has completed three marathons and aspires to qualify for the Boston Marathon. He believes sport is a game-changer for individuals and therefore societies, where the positive values and ethic learned from sport are formative and indelible.
